Sonmarg Day Excursion

To Sonmarg, the golden meadow at 2,800 m, at the head of the river Sind. Thajiwass Glacier and Zero Point are nearby.
Union cab not included for Zero Point or Zojila Pass. Thajiwass Glacier is reached by pony ride at the client's own expense.

Gulmarg Day Excursion
120 km round trip · about 6 hrs
Gulmarg at 8,700 ft, India's premier ski resort, with the world's highest golf course. The Gondola cable car runs to Kongdori and on towards the Apharwat range.
Vehicle access changes by season. In winter our cab runs only to Tanmarg, 15 km short of Gulmarg; from there a local-union 4x4 snow cab is compulsory and the driver arranges it. In summer our cab reaches the hotel or Gulmarg parking, and no sightseeing beyond that — the Gondola point is reached on foot, by pony, by ATV or by local cab, paid directly.
Gondola tickets. Book online in advance at the official J&K cable car site; online booking is mandatory. Book them yourself so any refund returns to your own account — refunds are not guaranteed.

Booking Terms
Booking Process
- 30% deposit to confirm the package and generate confirmation
- Send the deposit slip with guest arrival and departure details, and I-card if tickets are to be issued
- Tickets are issued once payment is received
- Hotel confirmation vouchers are released on 100% payment
- Driver details are shared by 7pm the day before arrival
In peak season the assigned driver may change the following day.
Payment
- 50% advance at booking confirmation
- Balance 15 days before check-in
- Travel inside D-15: full payment by bank transfer, cheque or deposit
- Bookings are released without notice if payment is not received, as hotel bookings release at D-15
No credit facility. Share your GSTIN in advance — invoices cannot be amended once generated. Do not deposit cash without approval.
Cancellation

Refunds
Paid to the source through which the tour was booked, in Indian Rupees, within about 7 working days. No refund for unutilised services — meals, entrance fees, optionals, hotel nights, sightseeing or transport.

Practical
- A postpaid SIM is mandatory in Jammu & Kashmir. Prepaid SIMs do not work.
- Srinagar Airport is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1 July 2026 by order of the Airport Authority. Plan flights accordingly.
- Gondola tickets must be booked online in advance.
Do Not Overpay
- In Katra, pithu, palki and pony rates are fixed by the Municipal Committee and displayed outside the booking office at Banganga.
- The Yatra slip for the Vaishno Devi temple is free of charge.
- Shikara crossings are complimentary when staying on a houseboat.
- Ponies are not needed at Gulmarg or Pahalgam — the main points are within walking distance. Where a client does want one, the rate is highly negotiable.
