About Uttarakhand

Mussoorie, Nainital, Rishikesh, Auli, Char Dham

Uttarakhand is called Devbhoomi, the land of the gods, and for many clients it means the Char Dham yatra: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath, the four shrines at the sources of the Yamuna, the Ganga and their tributaries, open each year from about April or May to October or November.

Haridwar and Rishikesh, where the Ganga leaves the mountains, are the gateway: the evening aarti at Har Ki Pauri, the bridges and ashrams of Rishikesh, and white-water rafting on the river.

For leisure, the Garhwal hills have Mussoorie and the ski slopes of Auli, while Kumaon has Nainital’s lake, Corbett National Park and quiet ridges like Ranikhet and Kausani.
