Port Blair, Havelock, Neil Island
The Andaman Islands lie in the Bay of Bengal closer to Myanmar than to mainland India, with clear water, coral reefs and beaches that are among the finest in Asia.
Port Blair is the arrival point, with the Cellular Jail, where freedom fighters were held under British rule, and its evening sound-and-light show; Ross Island’s ruins are a short boat ride away. Ferries run on to Havelock (Swaraj Dweep), home to Radhanagar beach and the diving and snorkelling at Elephant Beach, and to Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) with its natural bridge.
The islands are good for honeymooners and families alike, with glass-bottom boats and sea-walking for clients who do not dive.
