About Nepal

Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nagarkot, Chitwan, Jomsom

Nepal packs eight of the world’s ten highest mountains into a country a day’s drive across, and Indian travellers need no visa. The Kathmandu valley alone has seven monument zones on the UNESCO World Heritage list, among them Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and the old royal squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur.

Pokhara, beside Phewa Lake, is the gateway to the Annapurnas, with sunrise over Machhapuchhre from Sarangkot. Nagarkot on the valley rim offers a quieter mountain view, and Chitwan National Park in the southern plains has rhino, elephant and, for the lucky, tiger.

For pilgrims, Muktinath above Jomsom is one of the holiest sites for Hindus and Buddhists alike.
