About Macao

Historic centre, Cotai, Taipa

Macao, an hour from Hong Kong by ferry or across the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao bridge, mixes four centuries of Portuguese history with some of the largest resorts in Asia.

The historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, runs from the wave-patterned Senado Square to the facade of the Ruins of St Paul’s and the Monte Fort above it. Taipa village keeps its Portuguese houses and its egg-tart bakeries.

On the Cotai Strip, the integrated resorts bring shows, shopping and family attractions, and the Macau Tower offers a view, a restaurant and, for the brave, a bungee jump.
